BT Global Services is prepared to bring your business all the advantages of a networked, converged world. We recognised early on that global communications networks were changing business in fundamental ways. Physical proximity is no longer necessary for people to work together. Transactions can be conducted across any distance in real time, and hundreds of millions of people who did not previously have access to the global economy can now be a part of it.

At the same time, voice and data networks are converging into a single IP infrastructure, fixed and mobile networks are converging so that any device can communicate with any other –  and communication and collaboration applications are available at any time, any place. In this new world, the reach, capability and resilience of your network represent a new kind of equity. 

These changes demand a new kind of company, one that can provide a single point of contact for high-performance, seamless global networking. Over the past years we have worked diligently to transform our own organisation to offer this new breed of services: we call it networked IT services, and it’s based on an extensive and resilient MPLS network, growing by a new city every week. We employ some 37,000 staff in 53 countries and offer services in 173 countries.

BT in Benelux

In the Benelux, BT is the leading communication partner for multinationals, government agencies, and large demanding local enterprises – for whom we focus on network and IT-driven solutions. These solutions enable you to take giant steps forward in market impact and service provision. These solutions improve your operational management or the streamlining of your internal or external communications.

But BT does even more. We also challenge the local market leaders in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg in the areas of know-how, local services and quality. This way, we always offer you strong services, products, and solutions.

Our three strong pillars are infrastructure, people, and partners.

In the Benelux, BT not only has an extensive platform for voice services – in the past few years, we’ve also invested heavily in our own state-of-the-art fibre-optic network. In the Netherlands, that network runs to about 5,800 km, including 51 PoPs (points of presence) and 2,127 interconnection points. In Belgium, BT’s network includes a fibre-optic backbone of 1,100 km and interconnection points in 13 cities. This means that BT is always near at hand and you are always sure of extremely reliable, rapid and high-quality data connections. In addition, via this network, you have seamless access to BT’s immense international network, which connects your offices in the Benelux with no less than 170 countries.

But infrastructure isn’t the whole story. Thanks to innovations and acquisitions, we are able to deliver services with real added value over these networks: security services, mobility services, and unified communications. BT also has two hyper-modern datacenters (in Nieuwegein and Amsterdam) that are ISO/IEC 20000, ISO 9001, ISO 27001 & SAS70 certified. Major companies and organisations rely on these centres and on BT’s Managed Security solutions to protect their critical data. Plus, the Network Control Centre and the Customer Service Centre in Amsterdam are for customers from the Benelux, Scandinavia, and all international accounts. Networks in over 150 countries are monitored from these locations – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In the U.K. and in the Netherlands, BT also has standby facilities that guarantee perfect service in emergencies.
