In association with data services company GB Group, we developed BT Assure URU, an innovative web-based service to help organisations fight identity fraud and money laundering.

BT Assure URU provides an easy way to verify identity details taken from a variety of paper documents. This data is checked against some of the most comprehensive and reliable data sources available in the UK, in real time, providing an easy-to-understand response which can be used to decide whether to accept the consumer’s application.

BT Assure URU is designed to significantly reduce costs compared with manual verification of the original paper documents, which is expensive and time-consuming. Furthermore, It is a fully automated system, and operators and employees don't need to be experts in the issue of documentation validity and identity fraud.

We use this service ourselves and  it saves us over £88m a year, our customers save an average of £12m a year.
Another of our identity and fraud management offerings is BT Assure Fraud Reduction. Working directly with your existing ecommerce application, it assesses the risk of fraud posed by each transaction and enables you to stop any suspect transactions in time. The service can be used by retailers selling any type of product or service, even digital content, software, or other products or services that are delivered instantly.
