Beyond expectations

Dazzling opportunities

The so called developed western economy is tip-toeing its way out of recession. Meanwhile the Asian economies - which never really went into recession - are steamrollering back towards double-digit growth. India and China - the emerging economic super-powers - are enjoying annual growth figures of nine and ten per cent. Indeed China’s economy is now officially larger than Japan’s and so becomes the second largest in the world. But this story stretches right across a vast continent. We used to think about expanding into the Asia-Pac region. But in reality, Asia isn't just another region; it's half the world. And that half of the world is an economic equal if not superior to the half we call "developed".

BT Global Services: Making sure Asia lives up to your expectations

BT in Asia Pacific

BT established its headquarters in Hong Kong 25 years ago. We have constantly invested in our managed and network-related IT services resources and skills set in Asia to a point where independent analysts Gartner now rate BT as a leader in the region. We employ over 5,000 people directly in Asia with some 25,000 employees indirectly supporting both our business there and the BT Group as a whole. The BT Asia team is not just clustered around the usual business centres. For example, there are BT people on the ground in the 20 largest cities in China.

We've developed a unique depth and breadth of expertise delivering networks and systems in region for Asian businesses such as Tech Mahindra, Tata Consulting, China Shipping, China Airways, the regional banking giant CSLA and the world renowned Australia aural device maker Cochlear. We also deliver services in Asia for global businesses such as PepsiCo, Nestle, DHL and Manpower.

We've invested in Asia and gained the experience. Now we can offer that to you.

Managing the complexities

Growth is having a powerful impact on society in Asia. According to the OECD, a quarter of the world's middle class live there, and the number will double by 2020.  This is at the heart of the opportunity Asia offers. But the opportunities are not straightforward. Asia spans 48 countries and seven time zones. The differences in local IT infrastructure and telecommunications regulation are as stark as the cultural and linguistic ones. To create a single, efficient business model to operate across this region, can take a lot of time, learning and money. Or you can spend your time and resources doing what you do best and work with a partner that understands this diversity and currently operates successfully across it. Expanding in Asia puts huge pressure on your ability to manage. How do you inspire employees and local partners to deliver excellence daily when your office opening hours overlap for sometimes only an hour or two each day?

Let us help you thrive

We're embedded in Asia. We know the region and the partners you need. We can help you grow in any part of the continent. Great customer service is no longer a competitive advantage in Asia, it's an expectation. We can do that too, whatever the language. And it needn't even be prohibitively expensive to deliver it, thanks to our hosted, managed or cloud-based customer contact expertise.

We have Asia covered for any business expanding in the region. The 21st century is set to be Asia's. We can help you thrive there.
