Hear how Energizer collaborated with BT’s innovation practitioners and how to tackle innovation in tough times

Necessity is the mother of invention. In today’s depressed economy, there has never been a greater need for invention.

The 20th century’s great innovations from the automobile to the Internet were spawned and industrialised during recessionary years.

What equivalent fundamental innovations will we witness rise from the current downturn and, more importantly, will your enterprise be part of that innovation?

The key to successful innovation in business is how create lasting value from it. BT is recognised throughout the innovation community for its best-in-class method for achieving this goal.

The Energizer Battery business has been built on innovation - one of the company founders invented the first dry cell battery for consumer use in 1896 to power home telephones. Like most companies in today's competitive environment, Energizer continues to look for ways to grow its business. To respond to the challenge and enable diversification from its existing portfolio the company knew that it needed to revitalise its focus on innovation.

BT worked with Energizer, building a team of experienced innovation practitioners to work on a  co-innovation programme which helped Energizer accelerate the process of turning innovative ideas into viable business cases.

“The ideas that we are now pursuing could well make a significant difference to the future of Energizer, but one thing is for sure and that is that the collaboration with BT has helped change our company forever.”
Dan Stuckey, Vice President, Strategic Business Units Energizer Battery
