    Corporate Fusion

BT Corporate Fusion provides employees with a dual-mode device, one telephone number, one voicemail, and access to the corporate directory, corporate data and applications. This increases productivity, simplifies customer contact, and gives employees access to data in real time.

“We are excited to leverage our relationship with BT to now be trialling BT Corporate Fusion … We expect that innovative mobility solutions from BT, like BT Corporate Fusion, will deliver value to Unilever through improved productivity, an enhanced user experience and greater cost control of the increasingly mobile employees.”

    – Geoff Thirlwall, VP IT Services for Europe

    Work faster and smarter

BT Corporate Fusion can help increase productivity and help transform your business processes and the way your organisation works:

    • Save time contacting people: Quicker access to voicemail, corporate directory, and PBX features – saving valuable time communicating and collaborating with customers and colleagues. Research shows reaching colleagues the first time can save 30 minutes per day, equivalent to 13 full days per year. (Source: Cisco 2007, “Presence Boosts Mobile Phone Productivity.”)
    • Improve access to critical data: Respond rapidly to your time-sensitive emails. Typically, users can address 55 time-critical emails per week, or 2,750 per year. (Source: Ovum 2006, “MNCs & mobility: ten important messages for service providers.”)
    • Improve productivity: Gain better access to key decision makers and colleagues to resolve problems, sign off decisions and access to data. First-time connection rates can be improved from 20 per cent to 30 per cent with the help of one-number reachability. (Source: Cisco 2007, “Presence Boosts Mobile Phone Productivity.”)
    • Streamline your infrastructure: Help your organisation reduce costs by converging fixed and mobile communications, and reduce the complexity of managing multiple networks and devices.
    • Facilitate compliance: BT Corporate Fusion helps you meet emerging flexible working, regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.
    • Enhance security: Fewer than 30 per cent of organisations have assessed the security risks around mobile communications devices (Source: Economist Intelligence Unit 2006, “Symantec ensuring mobile security” – a survey of 248 company executives and senior IT employees). BT Corporate Fusion extends enterprise-strength resilience to these devices.
    • Increase management control: Almost 30% of employees already use their mobile as their primary communications device (Source: IDC 2006, “Extending the Enterprise PBX to Mobile Communications”). BT Corporate Fusion makes it is easier to manage one set of communication services rather than a range of disparate services, offering the potential to reduce mobile expenditure through routing calls over your corporate Wi-Fi network.

True fixed-mobile convergence is the smart solution

BT Corporate Fusion can help your organisation enhance productivity by extending traditional fixed-based voice services and applications to mobile devices. BT Corporate Fusion provides:

    • Enhanced voice services: Giving you access to converged features such as one number and one voicemail, as well as extending traditional desk phone functionality to the mobile device such as call forwarding, call recoding and access to the corporate directory.
    • Access to applications: Access to push email, calendar, and other everyday applications provides the ability for employees to receive, review and send traditional Excel©*, Word© and PowerPoint© files.
    • A single device for all communication needs: BT Corporate Fusion offers a choice of dual-mode devices to suit your organisation’s voice and data requirements. These devices can be used to complement or replace existing infrastructure including desk phones, personal assistant devices (PDAs) and mobile phones, according to your requirements.
    • Integrated Wi-Fi network: You can route your organisation’s voice and data traffic over the internal or extended corporate Wi-Fi network giving seamless handover between corporate Wi-Fi and GSM networks.

    * Supply, integration and management of Microsoft Windows Mobile applications (such as Excel©, PowerPoint© and Word©) and the customer’s customised corporate applications is not part of the BT Corporate Fusion service; BT does not take responsibility for the integration and ongoing usage of these services on the BT Corporate Fusion device (unless managed by BT as a customised service).

Meeting the needs of the mobile enterprise

BT Corporate Fusion is designed for organisations who want to keep on-site ownership and control of their communication, and where integration with their PBX is a pre-requisite. This uses a combination of hardware, software and networking technology to integrate mobile communications with your corporate network, using voice over WLAN across your office estate. Components include:

    • Selection of dual-mode devices with embedded BT Corporate Fusion software.
    • Cisco and Avaya PBX interoperability – with other PBX in the roadmap.
    • Wireless LAN for the transport of voice and data traffic on a BT managed site. Cisco Aironet is preferred alongside others, subject to site survey.
    • BT IP Clear or MPLS network for the transport of voice and date traffic between your sites.
    • A BT Mobile contract or any other mobile phone operator contract that provides SIM cards for use in dual-mode devices.
    • Sun server hardware with Solaris operating system.
    • NewStep software licenses, either:
CSN30 which comes with 250 user licenses, but can manage up to 30,000 users; or
CSN1 which comes with 25 user licenses, but can manage up to 1,000 users.

The user capacity of the standard solution is 30,000 users per enterprise, which can be scaled up if required.
