Question
Can I get the Caller CLI information un-encrypted in my ERD data?
Answer
Yes, the default is to encrypt the CLI to protect callers but for calls delivered via our Advanced/Basic Intelligent Network platform (Horizon, not ICM and Gain) the customer can opt-in to see the full caller CLI where available and the caller has not withheld it. This can be requested to be set up on the ERD data at anytime by the customer via Inbound.stats@bt.com or through their account or Customer Service Manager.
Question
What is the GIS file?
Answer
The GIS file we supply as part of the ERD data delivery contains Geographical information formed from analysis of the Caller Line Identity and is used to provide a key to the data in the individual ERD files. Data such as Postcode does not usually map directly onto an exchange area, but what is provided is a best-fit picture. The Local Exchange area name is the most specific area available down to the TV area, which is the least specific.
Question
How do I get a copy of the GIS file?
Answer
The GIS file is supplied with every ERD CD-Rom provided and made available to new ERD Download users on Inbound Architect with the first delivery of ERD data and subsequently when we make an update to the file data. A zipped copy of the file can also be downloaded by clicking on the GIS link on the Inbound Architect download page. For download ERD customers, a copy of the GIS file needs to be kept in the same directory as your ERD data where you import into Inbound Analyst from on your PC.
