The WAN between Liverpool Direct’s office and a customer site in London was becoming both congested and expensive
Built on BT’s 21CN platform, BT Etherflow offers unbundled VPN services, with scalable, resilient bandwidth up to 1Gbps
Liverpool Direct now enjoys secure and resilient connectivity with five times the bandwidth at less than half the cost
Liverpool Direct was set up in 2001 as a joint venture between the City of Liverpool Council and BT. It remains the largest public private partnership of its kind in the UK. Originally established to outsource selected operations for the City of Liverpool Council, the venture has since expanded and diversified, to realise economies of scale and deliver even greater value for its clients.
With an enviable reputation for excellence, a flagship contact centre employs around one third of the joint venture’s 1,300 people. Today, as well as continuing to provide the City of Liverpool with IT and business support, Liverpool Direct offers similar services to other public and private sector clients.
