The appointment of BT as official communications services partner to the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games entrusted the company with the heart and pride of the United Kingdom.
Sebastian Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), notes: “A well-respected safe pair of hands is critical. Delivering the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games without BT would simply have been inconceivable.”
The London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will feature over 14,700 athletes from more than 200 countries, competing in more than 700 events. Working alongside fellow London 2012 technology partners under the direction of the London 2012 Organising Committee, BT communications infrastructure will carry every official photograph, every sports report, and every visit to the London 2012 Games website, along with millions of calls, emails, and text messages.
