Markets, economies and people are more closely linked than ever before. So the need for effective collaboration is growing.
Historically, good communication and productive collaboration has been challenging. Many people found traditional communication tools clunky and confusing. Today though, research shows that 78 per cent of global business leaders want to use new collaboration tools to improve communication within their organisation. Along with this increased demand, technology has changed, and implementing easy-to-use, intuitive solutions is more straightforward than ever before.
What do your employees really want in their collaboration tools?
Our global digital dislocation in the workplace survey reveals that 57 per cent of IT decision makers need better collaboration across departments. And a staggering 75 per cent want simpler ways to share information at work.
Employees are already showing a keen interest in cloud collaboration technology, with desktop sharing the most popular application. This is closely followed by desktop video, phone-to-video calls, and mobile access to the corporate intranet.
All of these cloud technologies are also popular on mobile devices. And the drive for more intuitive applications within organisations, similar to those used outside of work, is expected.
The importance of cloud-based collaboration services.
Collaboration in the workplace integrates teams, helps to reduce costs, offers better client interaction, increases productivity, and improves efficiencies.
Our cloud-based BT One Collaborate complete service combines audio, web and video. When used during meetings, it means that all participants share the same conferencing experience, and benefit from BT MeetMe with Dolby Voice, video and content sharing.
It’s the closest thing you can get to a face-to-face meeting, and with Cisco WebEx, high-definition desktop video means that you can see the facial expressions of the people you’re meeting. Helping to build rapport, consensus and business relationships.
Plus, participants can choose to join from a video room, desktop endpoint, laptop or mobile device — whether at home, in the office or on the move. Together promotes internal skills development, knowledge sharing and job satisfaction.
