Customers to benefit from faster and easier application deployment

BT has achieved Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) Authorised Technology Provider (ATP) certification in the Benelux. Cisco ACI is a software-defined data centre solution[1] that enables organisations to roll-out their enterprise applications faster and easier. The certification recognises BT as having fulfilled the training requirements and programme prerequisites to sell, deploy and support Cisco ACI products and solutions.

Robbert Vogel, head of BT Compute in the Benelux, said: “Achieving Cisco ACI status enables us to offer our customers a data centre architecture designed to automate IT tasks and accelerate application deployments. In essence, this simplifies their operations and optimises time-to-market.”

Daan de Groot, head of partner organisation Cisco Netherlands: “This new certification recognises BT’s significant efforts in the cloud space, which also won them our Service Provider of the Year award earlier this year. We look forward to working together with BT to help our customers benefit from the advantages software-defined solutions have to offer.”

BT’s Benelux organisation achieved Cisco Gold Partner status in 2004. This was followed in 2008 by Global Certification, recognising BT as a partner that meets the requirements to sell, implement and support Cisco's solutions globally.

In the Benelux, BT focuses on an extensive networked IT services portfolio designed for multinationals, government agencies and local organisations with complex demands. Its BT Advise teams of professional service consultants provide consulting, integration, staffing and managed services through global knowledge centres, organised around core competencies, including security, unified communications, data centres and cloud.

[1] A software-defined solution is a solution in which hardware is pooled and managed by an intelligent software system, rather than individually by an administrator. It is applicable to data centres, networking and storage.
