BT revamps Internet access node in Luxembourg
(24 March 2015)
Enhanced capability targets demanding e-commerce, financial services and entertainment industries
BT today announced the opening of a new Internet access node in Luxembourg. The enhanced capability aims to serve the specific needs of the e-commerce, financial services and entertainment industries. It also adds new capacity for Luxemburg-based Internet service providers (ISPs).
Luxembourg is an increasingly important European technology and content hub. It is home to high capacity data centres and - via low latency fibre routes - connected to European peering hubs in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Frankfurt and Paris.
Joris van Oers, CEO BT Benelux, said: “Luxembourg holds a strategic position, in the centre of Europe, with highly developed infrastructure and a favourable business climate. This has not gone unnoticed by a rapidly growing number of online businesses, who need fast and reliable access to the Internet.”
“This new node is part of our continuous investment in improving network services, to help our customers deliver a great business performance across all global markets”, van Oers concluded.
