Delivering a step-change in workplace transformation

With all the pressures you face today - economic downturn, channel shift, margin squeeze, talent scarcity - how do you continue to increase efficiency and improve business performance?

We think the answer is by bringing together 3 things – technology, the office, and the way people are managed.  Wherever your people are – at home, in a café, travelling or at client site – they need to be able to collaborate, locate people and skills, share knowledge, seamlessly elevate an IM, to a voice call, to a video conference. They need to be able to use their own device securely and in a way that’s properly managed, using services they can pull down from ‘the cloud’ as and when needed.

Your own office needs to support this fluid way of working. You don’t need as much individual, formal desk-space.  You need more shared, informal kinds of collaborative space, which means you can significantly reduce your property cost per head

The way your people are managed needs to keep pace with this. Performance should be measured not on being present, but on achievement.  Career progression should be based not hours spent in the office, but on results and potential.  Talent needs to be developed and retained, and employees kept engaged.

And you need the policies and systems to make this happen.

BT can help you transform your business with its latest proposition: Powering up the Professional Worker.

It is a business-led, people-centric transformation in which we align a company’s technologies, behaviours and workplace to help you achieve your business objectives more effectively, giving you lower property costs, more billable hours and higher-margin contracts.

All of this adds up to better business performance.

Greater Manchester Police introduces flexible working

When Greater Manchester Police moved to its new, purpose-designed headquarters in November 2011, Superintendent Chris Ullah and his team took this opportunity to introduce flexible working and accommodate 1,100 administrative and support staff in a building with space for 500 desks. Calling on the experience of BT's specialists, Greater Manchester Police was able to design, develop and introduce shared desk working for 97 per cent of HQ employees - an astonishingly high proportion for a head office - in a very short time scale, achieving in a few months what conventionally might take years.
