Our presence
BT’s presence in Australia commenced in 1987, and today we employ more than 200 people in offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth.
BT operates a 24x7 multi-lingual, multi-channel and multi-skilled Service Operations Centre in Sydney, where most customer calls are resolved on the first point of contact by highly skilled technical support staff. The Sydney Operations Centre is aligned to two other Regional Operational Centres in Dalian (China) and Pune (India), so there is no disruption to customers if a disaster occurs in Sydney or in a Business Continuity scenario.
BT operates a customer innovation showcase in Sydney that provides various demonstration pods for customers to experience BT’s solutions and propositions.
BT Australasia is a leader in corporate social responsibility initiatives. In May 2008 the company was awarded “gold band status” in the annual Australia & New Zealand Corporate Responsibility Index, organised by the St James Ethics Centre. BT scored 98 per cent to win the highest ranking in the support services and telecoms sector of the index, demonstrating outstanding performances in the community investment, environment management, marketplace management, workplace management, and social and environmental impact areas.
BT’s access partners in Australia include PowerTel, Optus and Telstra.
