Damien Staples

Title: Vice President, Global Wholesale Voice & Roaming, BT

Damien Staples       

Damien was appointed to lead the global wholesale voice & roaming business of BT as the vice president in April 2016, following 2 years as general manager business development. As general manager of business development, Damien was responsible for all services provided on the BT Global IP Exchange and associated international-switching platforms. He also developed and commercialised value-added services (LTE, wi-fi, HD voice) to generate new revenue streams.

Previously, Damien headed the strategy team at BT Wholesale, advising the CEO and Executive Board on strategic and operational issues.

Before joining BT, Damien spent five years with GE Capital in the United States. He previously worked for Telstra and for AXA Asia-Pacific Holdings in his native Australia.

Damien holds a Bachelor of Business Systems from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, and an MBA from the London Business School.

In his spare time he enjoys cycling, travelling, and volunteering for charitable causes, including Crisis UK.

Andrew Boyce

Title: COO, Global Wholesale Voice & Roaming, BT

Andrew Boyce       

Andrew joined BT as the COO of the global wholesale voice & roaming business in February 2017, responsible for the governance, strategy and all operations functions around the globe.

Previously Andrew was global head of marketing operations, providing tools, systems and processes for the marketing and sales teams globally. Andrew has been with BT for over 7 years, and has held senior roles in both global services and consumer businesses. He brings with him a wealth of experience managing complex business operations, global transformation programmes, process re-engineering, business case and proposition design, and delivery of new infrastructure to maximise results in marketing, sales and product operations globally.

Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, is a huge technology fan, and after playing rugby for ten years now has to make do with watching the professionals in action instead.

Matthew Chandler

Title: Head of Sales, Global Wholesale Voice & Roaming, BT

Matthew Chandler       

Matt joined BT as the head of sales for the global wholesale voice & roaming business in February 2016, responsible for managing the entire voice sales and purchasing activities around the globe.

Before joining BT, Matt spent 8 years at COLT. During that time he led a global team of experienced sales professionals. He was responsible for new business, as well as recurring sales and purchasing for all voice termination on the COLT network. During his tenure, the business grew considerably both in revenues and direct cash contribution.

Prior to COLT, Matt spent 5 years at Arbinet where he was responsible for the commercial activities in the EMEA region. During this time, the company undertook a successful IPO on the NYSE. He also spent some time within the purchasing team at Verizon.

Outside of work, Matt likes to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two children. Matt also coaches kids football in the local community and is a qualified FA coach. He also enjoys playing golf and mountain biking.

Miguel-María Rodriguez

Title: Head of International Commercial Wholesale, EE

Miguel is the head of international commercial wholesale in BT and was previously commercial roaming manager coming from EE, where he joined back in May 2015.

Prior to that, he worked as Corporate International Roaming Manager at Orange Corporate in London, with Group worldwide responsibilities over partnerships, negotiations with external suppliers and project management. He previously worked for Orange and Telefonica R&D in Spain.

Miguel holds a Telecommunication Engineering degree from Carlos III University in Madrid, and an Executive MBA from ESIC Business & Marketing School. He is a massive football and running fan who also enjoys basketball and sports in general.

Dhiraj Wazir

Title: Head of Interconnect & International Enablers, EE

        

Dhiraj joined BT in April 2016 as head of interconnect & international enablers, leading international interconnect, products and operations for roaming. Dhiraj has been in this role for the past 6 years and his responsibilities included launching LTE Roaming, harmonised steering & fraud control platform, IDD routing and international SMS strategy. In addition, Dhiraj also delivered a common platform merging the two mobile networks for roaming partners.

He joined EE in 2004 as a product manager before which he worked in telecoms, dot com, media and the FMCG industry in India and UAE.

Dhiraj has a bachelor’s degree in microbiology & biotechnology and an MBA from Mumbai University.

Outside of work Dhiraj likes to spend his time with his family, cricket, reading and in pursuit of trying to be a “slave of many things”.

Alex Leroux-McCarroll

Title: Head of Wholesale & Channels, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, BT

Alex Leroux-McCarroll       

Alex holds regional responsibility for wholesale & channels in Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, including wholesale voice & data, Global IP Exchange and the Global Indirect Channel.

Previously, he was head of wholesale business for BT in France, then in Asia Pacific, and is based in Singapore.

In 1998 Alex started in the telecoms industry in France with Cegetel (now SFR).  He has since held various sales positions, both retail and wholesale, in several international telcos.

Since he joined BT in 2004, he has progressed in the carrier side of the business from account manager to his current position.

Alex studied business and earned degrees in France and the UK. 

He and his wife have a young son.  A keen golf player, he wishes he had more time to practice.

Corbett Whitton

Title: Head of Wholesale and Strategic Alliances, United States & Canada, BT

Corbett Whitton       

As the head of wholesale and strategic alliances for BT in the United States & Canada, Corbett Whitton is responsible for developing opportunities and driving growth through direct wholesale and partner channels.

Prior to joining BT, Corbett worked for Level 3 Communications for 15 years where he most recently led the North America Commercial Services organization responsible for proposal management, complex deal support, contract negotiation, as well as overall program management heavily focused on post-acquisition integration of people, processes and policies.

Corbett began his career in the construction industry after earning his BS in Construction Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1992 and moved to the telecommunications industry after earning his MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2000.

Married with two sons and a daughter, Corbett lives near Denver, CO and enjoys spending his free time taking advantage of the many recreational opportunities available in the Rocky Mountains, especially skiing and trail running.

Stephan Deutsch

Title: Head of Marketing, Global Wholesale Voice & Roaming, BT

Stephan Deutsch       

Stephan is head of marketing for the global wholesale voice & business at BT. Before joining BT, he held various international management positions in the telecoms and internet industry. A graduate in computer science from the University of Dortmund, he was one of the pioneers of EUnet, Germany’s first commercial Internet service provider, spun off from a university research project in 1993. Later, at UUNET, WorldCom and MCI he held senior management positions in marketing and global communications. After serving as vice chairman of the supervisory board at DENIC, Germany’s network information centre, he joined the company’s executive board serving as CFO and later as CEO. Stephan also worked as a founder and non-executive board member of Germany’s industry consortium for application service provision; ASP was a predecessor of cloud computing.

Stephan likes reading, travel, family and – naturally – he is a big fan of the internet.

Martin Schroder

Title: Chief Financial Officer, Global Wholesale Voice & Roaming, BT

 
Martin Schroder  

Martin Schroder was appointed as the CFO of global wholesale business of BT in Jan 2010. Before this Martin had been head of finance for the Major Programme Practice as part of BT in UK and also led the New Business /Commercial Finance team for BT.  Martin joined BT in July 2003 supporting BT Global Solutions in Asia Pacific, America’s and Middle East and Africa. In 2005, he became the head of finance for the Petro-Chemical and Pharmaceutical vertical within BT’s Global Business Management. Before joining BT, Martin started his professional career at Unisys before joining STC which later became Nortel Networks and then joined EADS. Born in London, UK, he lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and three sons. A Fellow of CIMA/CGMA, qualified in 1996 and he also is a BT Community Volunteer/Coach for a local youth rugby club.
