Keynote Speaker – Neil Lock, VP, BT Compute & Cloud Services

The cloud is full of possibilities, but it’s a fast-moving, fast-changing ecosystem. In the keynote, Neil Lock, VP, BT Compute will be sharing how BT & Cisco are helping organisations balance choice and control in this multi-cloud world.

We’ll explore the challenges we are seeing in the market and how our experience is helping business shape their long-term strategy, bringing together the right blend of infrastructure, services and security know-how. Neil’s background

Neil Lock: Vice President, Cloud and Compute portfolio, BT Global ServicesNeil is Vice President, Cloud and Compute at BT Global Services. In this role, Neil is responsible for the compute portfolio of products and services ranging from traditional telehousing and co-location, through to the latest Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) portfolio of services.

Supported by a team of thirty product specialists, Neil has been instrumental in creating award-winning innovative services in the IT market to support customer’s business needs. Working with the wider 500-strong BT Cloud Compute team, he has played a leading role in launching public and private cloud services for infrastructure, storage, desktop and applications.

Prior to his current role Neil was Programme Director Software-as-a-Service at BT Global Services. He led the creation and delivery of managed service propositions around the world with particular emphasis on the commercial models required to meet the needs of the diverse set of customers BT works with.

Neil has been working in a variety of roles at BT over a period spanning more than 20 years. In one of his earlier roles, he was in charge of the roll out of the first LAN in the UK. This was followed by the launch of the biggest integrated email system globally, a project he successfully turned into a managed service for customers.

In 2013 Neil completed a two-year General Management Course at Cranfield School of Management.

Neil lives with his family in Kent. A former professional player of golf, he still boasts a single digit handicap. He also likes vintage cars and vintage car racing and spending time with his dogs and chickens.
