Putting quality before size
BT has developed a range of broadband options in its Total Broadband products to suit a variety of needs. These might include individuals with light usage, mobile and home workers, or offices that require improved data security and support.
BT Business Total Broadband service uses new 'rate-adaptive' ADSL technology to automatically provide and maintain the fastest broadband speed a phone line can physically support. The actual maximum speed depends on a range of factors, including the customer's proximity to their telephone exchange, the quality and length of any telephone extension lines in their home, and the speed of their computer and modem. So, for example, customers living close to their exchange could get the full 20MB speed, whilst those living further away might achieve lower maximum speeds of 6Mb, 4Mb, or 2Mb. The up to 20MB service is also subject to local availability.
BT Infinity for business (Super-fast Broadband) uses next-generation optic fibres to transport data via light instead of copper, giving businesses a much more powerful internet connection with download speeds of up to 40Mb today and up to 100Mb in the near future, and Superfast upload speeds to match This method of delivering internet access opens up vast new opportunities for businesses:
- collaborate more effectively via seamless, lag-free videoconferencing
- run new applications over IP (voice, accessing data in the cloud), and run them all concurrently
- instantaneous upload of big files, no more computers left on overnight to churn data
- enjoy the peace of mind of Superfast data backup
BT is investing £2.5bn to roll-out the next-generation optic fibre broadband to two thirds of UK premises by 2015. We’re targeting 10m premises passed by Dec 2012, en route to two thirds of the UK (16m premises) by 2015.

A comprehensive business package
BT Business Broadband is specifically designed for small, medium and home -based businesses. Additionally, it is also used to provide internet access for larger organisations home workers. It operates as a transmission service providing a reliable, appropriately scaled communication network.
Our non fibre package (Total Broadband) is offered at speeds of up to 20Mbps (20 'meg'). Your actual connection speed will depend on a number of factors; including the distance you are from your local telephone exchange.
Our fibre package (Infinity for business) is offered at speeds of up to 40Mbps (20 'meg') download and 10Mbps (10 ‘meg’) upload. UK coverage is currently at approximately 10-15% of UK premises, and growing every week. If you are served by a fibre enabled exchange, your actual connection speed will depend on a number of factors; including the distance you are from your local telephone exchange. The terms and conditions relevant for our different solution options are:
Option 1: Fair use policy applies
Option 2: Opt-in required. Minimum 12 or 24 month term required. 250 minutes a month provided during minimum term only. One-off voucher will provide for all minutes available during the minimum term (3,000 or 6,000). Wireless-enabled equipment required. Minutes can be used in hotspots, subject to coverage. Conditions apply.
Option 3: Calls provided by BT will be charged at up to 8 pence per minute. A Call Set-Up Fee of 3 pence per call applies to calls from Residential lines. Mobile and other providers' costs may vary. See our pricing for details.
