Press release: Alarab TV chooses BT to build IT infrastructure

BT’s global expertise and local capabilities to enable Alarab News Channel to bring new content to viewers in the Middle East.
BT today announced its collaboration with Alarab News Channel to help the newly established television station build its IT infrastructure and optimise it for delivery of innovative services to viewers across the region.
The end to end IT solution will be delivered by BT Advise teams of professional services and consultancy specialists and includes servers, local network and storage, unified communications with IP telephony and a complete network security solution.
Alarab News Channel is a privately owned television channel due to go live before end of year. Its stated aim is to bring a new style of news programming, designed to give a new generation of news watchers what they need. Alarab aims to bring its viewers news from around the world which impacts their lives. Based in Bahrain, the all-Arabic channel will include extensive news programming as well as regular news roundups, travel and business information.
BT Advise is the professional services arm of BT and brings together more than 4,000 experts who deliver consulting, systems integration and managed services to customers around the world. In order to help maximise the success of Alarab’s big launch and its future expansion, BT Advise teams will apply industry leading processes and methodologies and draw on core capabilities in the fields of IT services, managed network services, unified communications and security.
