BT Technology contributing to Williams Martini Racing performance

Williams Martini Racing and BT travel to Austin, Texas for the U.S. Grand Prix
With only a handful of Formula 1 Grand Prix races remaining in the 2015 season, we were excited to spend a weekend in Austin, Texas. Austin represents the only F1 race and first purpose-built F1 racetrack in the United States: The Circuit of the Americas. All season long, BT has been working with the Williams Martini Racing team to make sure they receive all the data points, reports and performance metrics in true real time. With our connectivity and Williams Martini’s expert team of engineers, we are working together to ensure their drivers are as prepared as possible for each race.
Each race produces between 60 and 80 GB of raw data that must be sent securely and analyzed as quickly as possible by a larger team at the operations center in Grove, Oxfordshire (UK). Leveraging our global network, BT is able to deliver a 100 Mbps connection speed from every test track and race venue, allowing Williams Martini Racing to connect, in real time, with their crew at Circuit of the Americas nearly 5,000 miles (8,000 km) away. By continually optimizing the BT global network, we are able to bring the team’s engineers closer together than ever before and are proud to be a partner throughout the season.
