BT opens expanded Cyber Security Operations Centre in Madrid

Expanded facility forms a key part of BT’s global network of SOCs, providing 24x7 cyber protection for international customers and BT’s own operations.

BT has formally opened its expanded Madrid Cyber Security Operations Centre (Cyber SOC), to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity services in Spain and globally. The expansion comes only 3 years after BT Security set up its first SOC in Madrid, and will offer innovative new security solutions to customers.

BT Security will be recruiting additional staff in Madrid to cater for ongoing growth in customer demand, and to deliver new services including enhanced Cloud Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM).

Cloud SIEM combines continuous monitoring with collaborative threat detection and intelligence, and will help customers to detect cyber-attacks of all types; from zero-day exploits to privilege escalation, ransomware and more. The new facility will also support the development of BT Security’s current services in the region, including Managed Security Services and Threat Management.

The new centre is based in the Las Tablas area of Madrid, and forms a key part of BT’s global network of SOCs, which provide 24x7 security protection for international customers and BT’s own operations. BT Security employs 3000 people around the globe, who protect BT against 125,000 cyber-attacks per month and offer security solutions to consumers, governments and businesses, including some of the world’s best known brands.
