BT MeetMe VoIP System requirements

Overview

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) using WebRTC, is a technology that allows you to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). This will generally save money as both voice and data transmissions share the same network path.

Internet Access

• Wi-fi or Ethernet connection
• Mobile data plan
• ~90Kbs per connection of internet bandwidth should be allotted

Network Quality

VoIP services use real-time media communications and can be significantly degraded by the amount of latency, packet loss, and jitter. If poor voice quality is experienced consult your IT department for network analysis.

• Firewall and/or Proxy Configuration:
  TCP port 443 open to the internet
