Cisco has announced the deprecation of Basic Authentication for Exchange Online. As a result of this change, the Hybrid Calendar Expressway Connector will no longer support environments that are using Exchange Online mailboxes as of October 1, 2022. If you are using Cisco’s Expressway Connector with Office 365, you are required to migrate to the cloud-based connector.
Impact description and actionsIf the migration isn’t completed, any integration that uses basic authentication for the following protocols won’t authenticate after October 1, 2022.
1. Confirm if you’re using Hybrid Calendar for Exchange connector in your organisation. If not installed, no action is required.
2. If you’re using Hybrid Calendar for Exchange connector within your organisation, you will have to uninstall the existing connector and install MS Office 365 connector. Follow the steps described in Cisco’s article on Hybrid Calendar Service with Office 365 integration reference to learn how to complete this action.
