The legacy PSTN and ISDN network is set to cease operations in 2025 in the UK, and the efforts to adapt to this change are already in motion. Discover how we can help you transition to digital voice.
Yes, we provide public calling, numbering, and compliance measures with some of the most popular collaboration tools on the market, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Webex.
We offer inbound services in 180 countries and outbound calling across 73 countries, with full PSTN replacement available in 25 locations globally.
Full PSTN replacement countries include Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.
Everywhere, businesses are rapidly switching to digital. As technology and customer behaviour change, phone companies are moving from the old analogue public switched telephone network (PSTN) to a fully digital network. Germany, Japan, and Sweden are well advanced in making the shift. Estonia and The Netherlands are already there and have switched off their PSTN network. We plan to move all our customers to a digital network in the UK by 2025. This change will impact your phone services and everything else that currently uses the old phone network – all your non-voice services connected to PSTN or ISDN lines. Equipment such as alarms, EPOS machines, door entry systems, CCTV, faxes and so on will be affected. It’d be prudent to start planning your migration today to futureproof your voice estate and avoid disruptions to your business operations. Get in touch with us.
The main benefits of cloud calling include easy implementation, cost efficiency, advanced call features, mobility and flexibility. Also, see Why should I move to cloud calling?
Cloud calls are telephone calls that go through a third-party cloud host. In many cases cloud calling is an embedded functionality of a collaboration system / client like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Webex.
With VoIP, or voice over internet protocol, your calls go through your broadband connection. VoIP calling allows your people to make as many calls as they like using broadband and eliminates the need for multiple telephone lines.
Cloud phone systems are an ‘off premises’ solution, meaning they don’t need any hardware on site to control your calls. You access your cloud phone system using a broadband connection, eliminating the upkeep and maintenance costs of a PBX (private branch exchange) solution.
The cost varies depending on your requirement. If you’re planning to add voice into collaboration platform such as Microsoft Teams, with Operator Connect you could pay as little as £3.55 (ex. VAT) per user per month.
Inbound Contact global is our service that’s designed for the contact centre market. It collects traffic for onward routing and forwards it to our customers' contact centre agents. Inbound Contact global allows you to converge all your disparate call centres into one virtual operation, ensuring no customer call goes unanswered. Our global inbound call centre solutions make it easier for customers from anywhere to get in touch with you with easy-to-remember phone numbers that stay with you for as long as you want them. We’ve explained the business benefits of a global inbound voice network in detail here.
Global SIP (GSIP) supports all your office communication needs. GSIP lets you make and receive calls over the internet instead of a landline. You can make high-quality voice and video calls to your customer, suppliers, and employees. It offers an IP alternative to traditional voice services such as PSTN and ISDN. We’ve explained the business benefits of global SIP in detail here.
