The wholesale portfolio continues to be a key part of BT’s strategy and business. Our primary objective is to complement both the portfolio of products and the network reach of wholesale customers.

We have been meeting several of our carrier customers in the Americas in past few months at big conferences like ITW in Chicago and we would like to share some of the common feedback we received as well as our focus going forward.

Two products that are particularly appealing to most of our customers are IP Connect Global, which enable customers to use our global network via an NNI, and Inbound Contact Global, which delivers International Toll Free Service in 175 countries around the world. And all our customers cited the scale and reach of BT’s global network as the key reason to choose us as a preferred partner.

We have recently also experienced growing interest from a number of customers regarding the feasibility of BT offering bulk quantities of DIDs. While this is still in the evaluation and development phase, this potential offering would provide DIDs globally across 20+ countries, either directly or through various suppliers, as well as support customers in providing high-quality inbound voice termination.

BT’s security capabilities and practice are growing rapidly and we are now in discussions with various wholesale partners in regards to how BT may be able to help augment their security capabilities. One area that is of special interest is Ethical Hacking, not only because of BT’s capabilities and credentials, but also because end-customers would prefer to have an unbiased third-party to avoid a conflict of interest.

Satellite Services is another area that is especially interesting for carriers that do not have this capability.  BT is the largest supplier of satellite services to the corporate market in Latin America.

Last, we now have the capability to offer our BT MeetMe Dolby audio conferencing service for resale.  This can help you to offer BT’s state-of-the-art collaboration service to your enterprise customers via a white label offering, while retaining the advantage of the Dolby branding.  BT has a new dedicated resource in the Americas to support customers in evaluating this product, as well as new demonstration of the product capabilities available at our Customer Experience Center in New York. Corbett Whitton

As the head of wholesale and strategic alliances for BT in the United States & Canada, Corbett Whitton is responsible for developing opportunities and driving growth through direct wholesale and partner channels.

Prior to joining BT, Corbett worked for Level 3 Communications for 15 years where he most recently led the North America Commercial Services organization responsible for proposal management, complex deal support, contract negotiation, as well as overall program management heavily focused on post-acquisition integration of people, processes and policies.

Corbett began his career in the construction industry after earning his BS in Construction Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1992 and moved to the telecommunications industry after earning his MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver in 2000.

Married with two sons and a daughter, Corbett lives near Denver, CO and enjoys spending his free time taking advantage of the many recreational opportunities available in the Rocky Mountains, especially skiing and trail running.

Alex Ingles
Head of Wholesale, Latin America, BT

Alex Ingles is the head of wholesale for BT in Latin America. He has been with BT for 7 years, and was previously the COO for the same region. Prior to that, Alex was based in London, and helped to deliver the telecoms infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Before joining BT, Alex spent a number of years working in IT Consulting for Accenture. Alex holds an MBA from London Business School and a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering.

Alex has worked in 15 different countries, and speaks 4 languages. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, and currently lives in Sao Paulo.
