Make the digital possibleThe term digitalization reflects the way digital media and platforms influence the restructuring of the economy, society and culture. In a corporate context, digitalization can be used to describe the process of using digital technologies to change the way we engage with customers, how we develop products and solutions and the way in which business models are changing.

You are invited to attend one of our two sessions (breakfast or lunch) on Monday, 30th of January in Doha. During this “Make the Digital Possible” session, you will have the opportunity to meet Chris Cochrane, CIO of BT and to attend to a discussion exploring themes such as the impact of digital, ways of competing in the digital economy and trends to watch (IoT and Blockchain).

Keynote speaker: Chris Cochrane, CIO, Global Services

Chris Cochrane, CIO, Global Services.

Chris was appointed in August 2015, and reports to the CEO, Global Services.

Chris is the CIO for BT’s Global Services division, which provides networked IT services to some of BT’s biggest customers – located in more than 170 countries around the world. Leading a team of solutions architects and engineers specialising in delivering complex contracts, he’s responsible for driving innovation and the technical elements of BT’s service delivery to these customers.

Prior to this, Chris was the CIO of Openreach Service Delivery, where he was accountable for defining and delivering the technology strategy needed to transform the engineering experience and customer service.  This stretched across a workforce of 18,000 engineers and more than 33 million end customers across the UK access network.

Chris has a wealth of experience delivering technology transformation across all lines of business in BT Group.  He previously held roles leading customer service and cost transformation in Global Services; delivering the BT Wholesale network capabilities that underpinned the launch of BT Vision; and integrating and testing the IT platform that supported the launch of BT Mobile.

Prior to joining BT, Chris worked as a software developer in the mobile industry.

Chris holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Queens University, Belfast, and an MSc in Major Programme Management from St Hugh's College, Oxford University. Chris is married with two daughters, and lives in Belfast.
