Gartner's 2017 Critical Capabilities for Network Services, Pan-European report
BT recognised for the fifth consecutive year in Gartner's 2017 Critical Capabilities for Network Services, Pan-European report
BT has secured three top scores out of four in the use cases evaluated. BT scored full marks for Managed MPLS and Managed/Virtual Network Functions, and had the highest score awarded for Internet Access showcasing its portfolio strength in the European region.
This Critical Capabilities report accompanies the "Magic Quadrant for Network Services, Global." However, compared to the Magic Quadrant, which also assesses providers' visions and roadmaps, this report is focused solely on providers' current capabilities.
Seven product capabilities within BT Connect were evaluated with Hybrid WAN/SD-WAN replacing last year’s Managed WAN Optimisation capability. These new generations of software-based virtualized network technologies enable new services and digital business models that place less emphasis on the ownership of large-scale infrastructure.
In the four use cases evaluated, BT regained the highest score in two use cases, those for Large European Network and Midsize European Network. BT maintained the highest score in its capability to deliver for customers wanting a Core City Backbone and maintained third place for Multi-Country Branch Network.
I am proud of our performance reflected in the findings of this latest report. We feel that it reflects the way we support our customers in Europe, our Cloud Connect capabilities, our virtualised security and WAN optimisation services and importantly the strength of our new managed SD-WAN services.
We have made improvements to our key processes used to serve and enhance our overall customer experience as well as launched rapid deployment for 3G/4G in 28 countries. We continue to advance our strengths with our ongoing investment in our Cloud of Clouds portfolio strategy.”
