BT chosen as a supplier for CareCERT

BT has been chosen to help develop Care Computer Emergency Response Team

BT has been chosen by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) to help it develop a Care Computer Emergency Response Team (CareCERT). This is a new national service which will offer advice and guidance to help health and social care organisations respond effectively and safely to cyber security threats.

BT will work with HSCIC - the national provider of information, data and IT systems for commissioners, analysts and clinicians in health and social care – in delivering the new service which will enable a coordinated approach to be taken across the health and social care system.

CareCERT will provide a national cyber security incident management function as well as issue national level threat advisory information and good practice guides. Staffed by HSCIC and BT experts, it will provide incident response expertise for the management of cyber security incidents, broadcast potential cyber threats and actions to take and support the analysis of emerging and future threats.
