Cloud goes mainstream
Digital transformation is forcing organisations to re-evaluate their business models to capitalise on market disruptions. One of the central technology trends driving this change is cloud, now viewed a critical enabler for enterprise IT delivery.
When fully embraced, cloud helps companies be more agile, reduce costs, and fuel innovation. However, the best mix of private, public and hybrid cloud is different for every company. The key is defining an optimised cloud adoption strategy that works best for your organisation and can positively affect business outcomes.
Collaborating with IDC and Cisco, we learned from organisations that are leading the way in cloud deployments. We surveyed more than 6100 organisations across 31 countries, and analysed their business outcomes and cloud environments, based on industry, company size, and geography.
Our resulting report - Cloud going mainstream: all are trying, some are benefiting; few are maximising value - examines the business benefits of greater cloud adoption and provides a detailed breakdown of the results of IDC’s recent worldwide CloudView Survey.
From our research, we find that that while cloud adoption is an expanding part of IT organisations’ strategies, and IT leaders are growing more sophisticated in how they think about cloud; relatively few organisations have truly advanced levels of cloud maturity.
