Biography

Rebecca MarkovitsRebecca was appointed Chief HR officer in July 2017. She reports to the CEO, Global Services.

As Global Services’ Chief HR officer, Rebecca leads a diverse HR team based in the UK, Continental Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa (AMEA), and the Americas. She represents Global Services at the BT HR leadership team.

Rebecca joined BT in 2008 as Head of HR for the Benelux. She was then promoted to the position of Vice president for HR in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Latin America.

In that role, Rebecca was responsible for transforming the resourcing at BT following a number of acquisitions in the region. She was also leading on people development and reskilling, offering everyone in the unit the opportunity to broaden their career aspirations.

Prior to joining BT in 2008, Rebecca held senior HR positions at Celtel International, KPNQwest and VIANET.WORKS.

At KPNQwest she was appointed Senior Vice President for HR, where she directed the development, implementation and coordination of HR programmes and policies for more than 2,000 employees across Europe, whilst simultaneously managing major restructuring and integration programmes.

At Celtel she was Director for Compensation & Benefits and HR Services, where amongst many projects, she introduced a company-wide stock option programme and reviewed company pay and benefits policies for senior staff members group-wide.
