Meet Richard Cameron
CFO and deputy CFO, BT Group
Richard was appointed CEO, Global Services in July 2014 and reports to the CEO, Global Services.
As Global Services' CFO, Richard leads approximately 850 people covering core finance functions globally including commercial and new business finance. He is also responsible for a further 300 people in non-finance roles including Global Services' contract management centre of excellence, its chief operating officer function and investment boards.
As Deputy Group CFO, Richard also represents BT Group at the Design Council.
Richard joined BT in 2003 and set up the finance shared service centre for reporting, planning and analysis. He then became finance director of Consumer, before moving to become CFO of the newly formed Operate division, which subsequently merged with BT Innovate and Design to form BT TSO.
Following this, he was appointed CFO BT Retail before it was split into BT Consumer and BT Business. It was after this that Richard became Deputy CFO BT Group with responsibility for billing, revenue assurance, finance shared service centres, regulatory finance, group commercial finance & group financial control.
Richard began his career in the construction industry working on infrastructure projects such as the construction of pharmaceutical plants and cable TV infrastructure build. He later moved into the communications industry working at Telewest and at Level 3 Communications including a two year assignment in the US.
Richard holds a FCCA and a BSc in pure Physics from the University of Nottingham.
