Ask people what they want from their employer and mobile working is a top priority. Three in four will say they see flexible working as the main thing they look for in a benefits package. And two-thirds say they’d rather have the tools to work on the go than a company car*.

Ask them why they want to work on the move and they’ll tell you that better communication makes them more successful. And that their productivity improves when their colleagues use mobile devices for work*. So not only is mobile working good for employees – it’s a way forward for business too.

But they’re also still looking for better ways to share information on the move and get hold of colleagues quickly. They want technology to speed up decision making (54% say they waste time trying to get hold of people *) and their top priorities are clear. On their smartphones:

  • 69% want screen sharing *.
  • 62% want IM for work *.
  • 48% want video chat or conferencing *.

So you need to think about what your people need on their mobile devices to drive effectiveness and how best to deliver that infrastructure.
