IDC MarketScape: Worldwide UCaaS Service Providers for Enterprise 2021 Vendor Assessment

BT is positioned as a leader in the IDC MarketScape which evaluates 19 service providers offering UCaaS for enterprises globally.

The coronavirus pandemic has changed our working lives dramatically, and with it, our attitudes to – and methods of – collaborating beyond the office.

In this first edition of the IDC MarketScape Worldwide UCaaS Service Providers for Enterprise study, IDC  has evaluated service providers offering UCaaS for enterprise using the IDC MarketScape model.

We’re positioned in the Leaders Category with the IDC MarketScape highlighting our overall unified communications and collaboration strategy as one of the "choices " as it allows global organisations to choose from variety of meeting solutions on a per user per month usage-based model.

“We’re extremely proud to be recognised as a leader by the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide UCaaS Service Providers for Enterprise 2021 Vendor Assessment, to not only provide choice but also the ability for our customers to have multiple choices at once, allowing interworking on-net with the Session Management Layer.

In this new world of ‘business beyond the office’, what’s clear is that a one-size-fits-all approach to remote working strategies won’t work. Our experience in large transformation programmes – both within our own business and with many of our customers – shows this. Putting people first and technology second, as well as having the right infrastructure, collaboration tools, processes and adoption procedures in place, is the difference between a business surviving and a business thriving in uncertain times.”

According to the IDC MarketScape, our portfolio approach underpinned by our legacy in delivering integrated solutions to large organisations can benefit customers of its UCaaS solutions.

The IDC MarketScape also states that “BT offers a foundational set of security services built into the UCaaS solutions, as well as optional add-ons for specific customer needs or personas and a range of monitoring and issue detection notification services, and ongoing adoption services to help ensure usage and customer satisfaction.

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.
