Webex Teams allows continuous teamwork with a group of your colleagues.

With features including video meetings, group messaging, file sharing and whiteboarding, the app makes it easy to work anytime on any device, with everything all in one place.

You'll get the hang of it quickly and easily thanks to its intuitive User Interface (UI). Navigation is on the left, Search and Filters at the top. And below you’ll find the Spaces, with messages in the centre and activities on the right.

Everything you need is all within easy reach, helping you get things done faster.

People, Spaces and Team Spaces

When you use Webex Teams, all your work takes place within Spaces. Spaces let you send messages, make calls, have video meetings, share files and whiteboard. You can choose from three types of Space – People, Spaces, and Team Spaces – depending on why you need to chat.

Sometimes you just need to send a message directly to one person. When you do, that conversation remains between the two of you.

Spaces are where you come together to get work done. They’re ideal if you’re working within a group and your focus is narrow. Plus, they can be used in the long- or short-term depending on your needs.

If your project grows beyond its original scope, you can simply move the Space into a Team, so it becomes a Team Space.

Teams help you keep everything organised by bringing together multiple Spaces under a common theme. They’re great for a consistent group of people who are going to be working on something for a long time.

Team Spaces

Every team has at least one General Team Space that you're automatically assigned to when you're added to the Team. As a team member, you can view and join all Spaces in the Team, as well as create Team Spaces for others to join.

Webex Teams vs Webex Meetings

Webex Teams integrates all your communication and collaboration with your stakeholders or teams before, during and after a meeting in one experience. Webex Meetings lets you hold online video meetings, where you can share and work on documents in real-time.

Webex Meetings is a virtual meeting place where you can meet with others in real-time. It can be used directly from your web browser, or through the app on your computer and mobile device. Its role is to mimic what would happen in a physical meeting room.

Webex Teams goes beyond the meeting itself. Webex Teams integrates the whole collaboration experience, before, during and after meetings. It lets you create groups for shared interests, post and find documents previously shared, draft and send messages, create and review whiteboards. You get the same experience whether you use it on your windows PC, Mac or mobile device.

A Space is a place for a group of people to work together, where their focus is narrow and specific. Everyone who’s part of that space is involved in all its aspects. Spaces might be used for short- and long-term projects. But, if the original intention changes and grows, you can move the Space into a Team.

A Team is a place that helps you keep everything organised by putting multiple spaces under a common theme. Teams are ideal for a consistent group of people who are going to be working for a long time on something that might be complicated and involve a lot of activities, or could be sub-projects happening at the same time. Every team has at least one space called General, where everybody invited to the team is also added too. As a Team member, you can view and join all spaces in the team, create new Spaces and invite others to join.

Cisco Spark became Webex Teams — an app for continuous teamwork with video meetings, messaging, file sharing and whiteboarding.

Yes, you're not limited to communicating only with people within your organisation. If you're working with other people, such as vendors or customers, you can invite them to collaborate with you in the Webex Teams app.

There is a 5,000-participant limit for spaces in Cisco Webex Teams.

Go to the Webex Teams app, click the ‘Meetings’ icon on the left side of the screen and click the ‘My Personal Room’ button on top of the screen.
