Rob Claxton

Rob is a Senior Manager in our Applied Research unit.

He’s worked in a variety of technology roles in his 27 years with BT, spanning everything from signalling systems and the development of our Intelligent Network platform through to network science.

Rob played a key role in our adoption of big data technology and his team are now actively applying machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to real-world problems, including natural language processing and machine vision.

Rob is passionate about effective use of these technologies and leads the AI Governance work stream at the TM Forum where he’s helping to develop a framework for the safe operation of AI deployed at scale.

Rob graduated from the University of York in 1993 with a MEng in Electronic Systems Engineering.
