Hugh’s role is to widen and deepen our relationships with the public sector by exploring the full breadth and depth of our security capabilities in order to help make the UK a safer place to do digital business.

Previously Hugh ran our security portfolio, this included vendor relationships and a team of service designers who designed the operational elements of large and complex security bids. It was his job to maintain and improve our security portfolio, to ensure it grew and developed in line with customer demands and the evolving cyber threat.  This included ownership of our world leading big data cyber security platform which enables cyber operations to quickly detect and respond to risks, threats and vulnerabilities using world class visualisations and analytic techniques on a single screen.

Prior to this Hugh led and won a very large bid to fully outsource cyber operations and technology development for a nation state. He also designed, formed and then ran a new organisation to protect BT itself from cyber-attacks. Hugh’s team successfully protected both BT and the London 2012 Olympics’ network and website.
