Joris van Oers
Managing Director Global, Business
Joris was appointed Managing Director Global, in April 2023, reporting to the CEO of Business.
He leads BT’s international unit delivering connectivity, cloud, and security solutions to multinational companies and international organisations in 180 countries.
Joris re-joined BT in 2019 as managing director to lead a global vertical team focused on customers in the resources, manufacturing, and logistics sectors. In addition, he was responsible for BT’s operations in Europe. In July 2021, he was appointed managing director for International Markets.
Prior to this, he was executive vice president of the business division at KPN, the Dutch telecoms company. And before that, between 2012 and 2015, regional manager for BT in the Benelux. Joris has also worked for private equity owned companies in the media and tech sector.
Joris started his career at KPN after completing university studies in Belgium and The Netherlands, holding a number of sales and senior management positions. By the time he moved on, he was running the corporate solutions business and the international mobile unit.
As well as his activities in global telecoms, Joris is also active in various charity funding activities and is member of a Rotary Club. He is married with three children and lives in The Netherlands. His interests include golf, skiing, cycling and tennis.
